My dryer was installed on 3/13/2009. It has been sporatically not shutting off automatically in the timed dry. Now it does not shut off automatically in the sensor mode. If it is the timer that is bad, is there anything else that needs to be replaced? This is a pricey item if it isn’t the correct part.
Here are your parts

See the attachment for the wiring diagram
Check across the timer motor for 120 volts in timed dry.
If the voltage is there and the timer is not advancing then the timer is toast.
If there is no voltage check for 120 volts across timer switch 0 if there is 120 volts there in timed dry then timer switch 0 is not closing.
This can also be checked by unplugging the unit, setting the timer to mid scale timed dry and checking timer switch 0 using resistance. It should be 0 ohms.
The most common cause of the timer not advancing in auto modes is a dirty moisture sensor.
If the timer does not cut off in the timed dry cycle, like you have indicated, then there is no other thing it will be. Timed dry is not a sensing dry. It is a timed dry, like a cooking timer. NO OTHER VARIABLES!!! Tom http://www.applianceeducator.com/parts.htm
