Hello all, I am a proff fireman 25 years appliance repair man zero.haha. My washer has a white or opaque ring around the front drum with what looks like either lots of lint stuck to it or a failed fabric gasket. The ring is broken in two places so I pulled the ring parts out. When I spin the rear large pulley there is a thump and noise like loose parts are moving around right behind the large pulley, now the machine sounds like a sneaker is inside while washing, if the ring somehow kept the metal and plastic tub apart like a guide ok but if you are thinking rear tub assembly because the bearing is bad I know I won’t be able to do it but what is fair repair price assuming ofcourse I convince whirlpool to send me one, if I loose that battle than the part plus repair will probably be more than value of three year old machine. When I pull on metal drum in front I can move it all around making it hit the plastic tub in all directions. The metal drum should spin within plastic drum without touching right. Thanks everyone.
