Duet tune-up

The machine was beeping and flashing an error code so I turned it off and opened the door only to have water pour out all over the floor, what a mess. I was able to turn it back on and get it to drain but no spin. I opened it up the back to find that the belt had come off and was wrapped around the drum pulley; there was black powder all over the inside of the washer. When getting the belt off I noticed that the pulley had come loose. I tightened it up, is there a trick to it or do you just yank on it as hard as possible with a wrench while holding the pulley? I vacuumed out as much of the powder as I could see, re-installed the belt and the machine seems to work fine now. I had noticed maybe a year or so ago it was louder when spinning, I need to pay better attention. That’s my story.

So, due to the additional stress the washer has gone through I thought I would give the suspension a "tune up". I have ordered a belt, 2 springs and 4 shocks. Can anyone tell me if there is any special way to replace the springs? They seem to be pretty heavy-duty. Anything on the shocks would help too. Thanks.

You can find the information in the Service manual.

You may want to remove the toe panel and put something under the tub to support it.
