E6 F2 Code on Whirlpool Oven

I have a Whirlpool Gold double oven. Like lots of other blogs, mine recently started beeping and showing an E6 F2 error code. At first, I would just hit the Start or Off button and it would reset. Sometimes it would reset on its own. After severl months of this working-not working situation, the display finally went blank. I called Whirlpool and they said they could only tell me to call a local technician. I called and he wanted $300 to repair. I was told by the technician and Whirlpool that the E6 F2 error code was a keypad failure. I bought a new keypad (#8300441) - it arrived and I installed. Guess what - it’s still no go. The display is blank; the Start button is the only one that works and all that does it beep about 5-6 times. This is the same behavior as the existing ‘faulty’ part. Could it be that the technicial and Whirlpool are both wrong and the part that needs to be replaced in the microcomputer? Either way, we are now going out to eat for Christmas - guess we’ll support the local economy. Thanks - Paul

The control board (computer) is the part that needs changed.

Here’s a link to the part Control board

It almost sounds the door latch is not catching properly. Throw it in a spin only cycle, and see if it will spin. If it does, that will say the latch is fine, and take it out of the equation. Tom http://www.applianceeducator.com
