evaporator fan stuck in ice

The "slot" where the water is supposed to drain out the back is filling with ice and the evaporator fan is hitting the ice. Would anyone know if this is a drain clog problem or a evap heater problem?

I used a hair dryer and got the bulk of the ice melted and out but where it goes into the back of the unit there was still ice. I probably need to leave this unit off for awhile but I do not have a place to store the food.

I do not see where the water should be draining out to. I would like to stick a pipe cleaner or something down it (if I can get rid of all of the ice.)

I guess I could check the evap heater with an ohm meter. Anyone know which is likely or other possibility? Thanks.

Ray

I use a turkey baster and hot water to clear the drain. Do not think there is a drain heater available for your model , But will check.

I will try that - thanks.

I do not believe there is a drain heater just the defrost heater. I think that works since the ice is all near the drain and no ice on the evap coils.

Amazon has one, just put in universal refrigerator drain heater.
