Everything on oven works except electric control panel

  • REVISED * : MODEL # FEF377CFTC

New to this post and ‘in the dark’ for these kinds of issues… Have a barely used Electric Frigidaire Galley oven and upon a return trip home, the control panel (that controls oven, clock, timer, etc.) is totally blacked out and without power.

All other controls on the oven; however, works fine (re: lights, electric top-ranges, etc.).

Tried to unplug oven and check / reset circuit breaker (which had NOT been tripped), and wondering what best recourse is. See some local technicians in (WI), which want a $50 visit fee and then the cost of repair/parts. National Chains appear to be @ $100.00 for visit + cost of repairs/parts. Is one better than another?

Also, what is the potential cause / damage on this? I’m also wondering if buying a new oven makes more sense now based on what the total repair cost could be to fix.

I’d be much appreciative to get some expertise and input on this…

Replacing the clock control board should take care of the problem. You might have neen hit by a power surge. Tom

i would do it myself if i were you. buy the time the service man, marks up the price of the part, plus labor, and a service call, you will at least pay double the amount. tom%url%

when gas dryer is run in regular or timed cycle, dryer stops after 20 mins. Then a slight electric burning smell, drum turns easly enough, and heats well.any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you able to restart it right after it stopped or it has to cool down?
