Disclosure - I am very noise sensitive to our refrigerator. Ever since we had to move it a year ago to re-do wood floors, I believe our refrigerator is much noisier. And I have gotten into a habit of shutting if off when I am in the kitchen. I am not sure whether it is the compressor or the fan in the freezer.
First ?? Is there anyway to know which one it is? I did have Minnegasco/(Minneapolis area) come out to check to it because we have warranty on it through them. They were not helpful at all, the repairman says it’s normal for a 10 year old refrigerator, wouldn’t discuss it any further.
Second ??? Now, since the repairman was out, when the refrigertor shuts off the fan at the bottom makes this pinging noise for several seconds. Not sure if it hitting something, what would be the reason?
Can you please help with both questions.
Thank you so much
Karen
It may be hitting something, the only way to know is to pull the refer out and look. Can you describe the noise in question#1, also open the freezer and verify if it is the freezer fan, or pull the refer from wall and listem to where the noise is coming from.
Question 1 noise: it’s the matter how much noise should it be? it seems to me it’s the freezer fan and the vibration noise it makes with the refrig in the wood cabinet it is surrounded by. I am trying to determine how loud should it be and whether replacing it would help or there a way to insulate it to quiet the sound.
