Fan Noise ... maybe?

This frig started make a grinding noise tonight … sounds like a fan. It is not the condenser fan… I took a look and all is well. the noise is up top appeal loader when the doors are open… I need some ideas here as I have no idea what it could be???

Thanks

David

You also have a fan in the freezer called the evaporator fan. It can be loud if it’s wore out or it can be hitting ice build up. In which case you may have a defrost problem. Here’s a diagram of your fan. It appears to be in the top behind a cover on the back.

So I turned off the breaker to the frig… and when I turned it back on the noise was gone … and is still gone. Maybe there was a piece if ice in the fan?

How would I know if I have a heater problem??

Ok … the evaperator fan noise is back… so the question is do I have a heater problem aof a fan problem … or both.

Of course I do not wanr to order extra part … but I have to get this done:eek:

Thanks … I will take it apart asap

Well, I finally took the frig apart… and it was just ice builld-up over 10+ years.

Removed ice and lll is well!

  1. Touched Bake, set Temp to 325.
  2. When temp reached 325, placed cake in oven.
  3. Checked oven at 30 minutes, temp was at 260 and never rose.
  4. Cleared settings, touched bake again, temp 325 and "on" signal came on…to indicate oven was ready.
  5. Self-diagnostic system never appeared, so I am in the dark as to what the problem is.

The above is my problem, and since we are on a limited budget, I need to fix this myself.

Thanks in advance for your attention to this problem.

My daughter put a metal pan in the microwave. Now the timer, clock, fan, light, etc. work, but it doesn’t heat. Is it the fuse and if so how do I, a novice, replace it?
