I have a flaky intermitent problem with my dishwasher starting. Sometimes I push the start button and nothing happens ( more than sometimes lately). I replaced the door switch assembly, no change, I ran the field test and all checked out OK. No problems were detected.
I am not sure if the touch pad is going bad or the circuit board. Where do I go from here? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, I will give it a try
You are welcome. Keep us posted.

I took the diswasher apart and tried ohming out the pins. Got a resistance in all but the "auto clean’ and the "start/cancel" buttons. ( the ones used the most at our house. My guess is the touchpad contact is bab, going to order anoter one.
The new front pannel touchpad fixed it!
I’m glad you were able to fix it. Thank you for the feed back and good luck with your dishwasher.

I am having the same problem.
Can you please explain how to take off the main cover? I removed the 6 screws behind it, but that doesn’t look necessary. When I try pulling it off, I’m not sure if I would be forcing it off or not. Do you know how?
First take out all screws from around the door, Disconnect the electrical connections from the vent and the dispenser, move the plastic inside part of door asideUnscrew the circuit board box then unscrew the touch pad pannel from the door. it should just about fall on the floor after that. remember to reverse the procedure when placing back together.
My problem is similar to those described above, MAYTAG Model MDBH955AWW. I have had the unit less than 2 years. Response from the touchpad has progressively deteriorated over the last month: lights failing to operate while the DW went though its cycles, to a total failure of all touchpad buttons. Now some lights will come on, but no action. I don’t want to spend $180 for a touchpad. Is there any other option? Are there better dishwashers out there that don’t employ the touchpad design? I would prefer the old-fashioned mechanical dials of the GE dishwasher I had that lasted over 20 years.
I have an old 20+ hotpoint Custom Crafted Frost Free harvest gold refrig that freezes things in the back of the refrig unless I set it dial on the warmest setting. The freeze must be set on the coldest setting to keep it at zero. Is it dying? Can it be saved?
