Freezer Stopped Working

[LEFT][COLOR=#000000]Worked fine for a few years. The suddenly there is a clicking noise and the tank hums a little the clicks and all is quiet. Repeats every 5 mins but all the while the freezer has defrosted now and is not cold.

What do I need to replace, thermostat? Compressor? Would it be better economically to buy a new freezer for 150?

if the 150 doesnt work out what is probably wrong with this freezer?

Possible the compressor start devices or the compressor itself.

The starter for this Haier freezer is no longer available (per Sears) and the new compressor will cost you over $200 + installation.
