Update to my original post : Found a sheet of ice on the bottom of the freezer side with some water dripping from the back compartment. Removed the rear freezer panel and found the coils not overly frosted or icy (non-professional opinion). There was however ice covering the drain hole which remained until I used a hair dryer to defrost the coils (took about 30 seconds) and loosen the ice over the drain. The water on the house floor is obviously from the defrost cycle with a covered drain. What I don’t know is whether the drain is plugged (causing the water/ice buildup) or if something is malfunctioning in the freezer system. A more experienced opinion than mine will be greatly appreciated!
