Neither the fridge or the freezer are cooling properly. There is no ice up on the evaporator in the back of the freezer. The fan at the compressor is working and both fans inside the fridge/freezer are working properly. I don’t believe the compressor is running. It doesn’t vibrate or anything when I plug the unit in. I have a dog so I cleaned as much dog hair out of the condensor as I could with my vacuum. I have checked continuity with an ohm-meter across the black 2-pin capacitor on the side of the compressor and i get about 4.50 M-ohms resistance across the terminals of the 2-pin capacitor mounted on the side of the compressor. The resistance reading gradually drop the longer I hold the meter on it. At about 4.30 M ohms I lose all continuity and when I swap the leads on the capacitor it starts back at about 4.50 M-Ohms and drops back off to about 4.30 M-Ohms. Is this a normal reading? What do you guys think? Is there common problems with these compressors or other electrical components that I can’t seem to find?
I changed the thermal switch 6 to 9 mo. ago. It failed and was replaced then failed a month later. Why does this switch keep failing?
