fridge is on but not cooling

We have a magic chef fridge that is turning on but no longer cooling. I had a repairman come out and he stated that we need to replace the starter-relay-overload. He had trouble finding the part so he did not do the repair. I have found the part on this website but upon ordering it looks different from the part removed from the fridge. I called and was told that this is the correct part and that perhaps someone on this forum could help me with the install. Images of the 2 parts are attached below. Any help would be appreciated.

the top image is the old part, the bottom image in the new part. the prongs do not match up and there is no connection point for the black wire from the overload to connect to the starter

If you have an ohmeter, I can help you install the new, black ptc device.

Sorry, my gmail failed to respond to your msg.
The standard pinout on the older fridgs. is common on top, start bottom left, run, bottom right.
Measure resistance between the top pin and both bottom pins. The bottom left should have higher resistance than bottom right, that confirms the start terminal.
If so,hold the ptc device with tab on top and spade terminals facing you.
Measure resistance between either spade terminal and either output pin. There should be zero ohms between any input pin and the right output pin. There should be 5- 10 ohms to the other output pin. If so, that pin is the pin to get one wire from the fridg. the overload device gets the other fridg wire.
Be carefull here, you must wire it up correctly, or you could burn out the compressor.I would monitor the common pin current when you plug it in. If you get over 5 amps, for more than a few seconds, unplug fridg. you wired it wrong, or you have a bad compressor.

Success! Thanks so much!

You are wellcome.
