Fridge won't cool. Freezer ok.

So we have a Jenn-Air double door refrigerator. Model number JSD2989AEB. Our refrigerator side is not cooling. Our freezer side is freezing its just not as cold as it normally is. We had this happen to us a few weeks ago and the refrigerator repair man replaced the defrost heater. Now that it’s doing it again, what could it be now? I read a little online that it might be the defrost control board?? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi.

Open the rear panel in the freezer and check if it’s blocked with snow. If it does check the defrost heater and thermostat for continuity.
If there is continuity - replace the Adaptive defrost control or ADC, located in the fresh food top right corner behind the cover.

The ADC 61005988

So we received the part in yesterday and we replaced it. It was replaced at about 10 pm last night and it has almost been 12 hours and it isn’t any cooler. It’s still hanging around 60 degrees. Anything else we should do? Or do we need to wait longer?

Hi.

Did you completely defrost the fridge for 12 hrs. before plugging in?

Simon.

No we did not do that. I will do that and see if it starts working.

OK.

Post the results.

I have a 3 year old Whirlpool (GX2FHDXVA) that just gave me problems. I noticed the trim between the french doors was hot yesterday, and now the fridge won’t cool (it’s around 65 if we leave doors closed).

I can see the damper is open in the fridge. The freezer is suddenly frosted up, including what appear to be vent holes on the rear wall. I’ve read other posts indicating that it is probably the defrost system, but I can’t find any parts labeled "defrost" in the parts diagram on this site for my model.

Any thoughts?

Hi.

There are defrost heater ,thermostat bi-metal and control board. The first two are in the freezer behind the rear cover and third one inside the control panel.
Check if the both fans runs, condenser coils clean and all door seals are good.
Open the freezer cover and check if the evaporator coils are blocked with snow.
Using the multimeter check the continuity defrost bi-metal and heater. If both checks )K - replace the control board.

Please, provide the complete model number of the unit.

Thank you.

We replaced that part back in July. It worked great…But now we are having more problems. Our refrigerator is leaking from the bottom. From what I can tell it looks like it is from the inside. I looked in the freezer section and the whole bottom of it has about a half inch of ice. You can’t even pull out the bottom drawer. Any ideas what this might be?

Hi.

The condensation drain is frozen. It’s underneath the evaporator coils. Take the cover off and using the blow dryer and hot water defrost and clean the drain.
