Frigidaire Dryer won't start

My dryer keeps going out and looking for any insight on the possible issues.
When it does work it seems to do the job…but if I open the door before the time is done and when I try to start it again …it won’t turn on. It makes a weird noise (like it trying to ignite an has a funny gas smell)! Is there hope?? Thanks!! Any feedback / suggestions would be great!! Melinda

Hi Melinda,

Open the door when it would not restart. Push in and hold the door switch and turn the drum manually while pushing the start switch. If it would start, replace the motor.

Hey Gene!

Thanks for the reply! I tried doing what you said and it didn’t start. The more I try starting it…the more it releases a funny smell! Any other ideas?? Thanks again!!

You may want to dismantle the dryer and check the motor.
