Exactly 6 months ago I had a small flood in my refrigerator compartment caused by a frozen filter housing breaking. The problem was diagnosed as a bad freshfood thermostat and repaired. Now, 6 months later I have the same issue! The refrigerator was purchase 12/2003. The repair was $370 and I don’t want to repair again if this is a known repeat issue. Was it a bad thermostat replacement or is there possibly something else causing the thermostat to fail?
You might have a stuck thermostat. I would use non-residue contact cleaner on it, just turn it off and on while spraying it, then keep a thermometer near the filter to monitor the temperature.
