Frigidaire GLEF378CSB Broken

was using the oven, temp was set at 400 and right after warming up the stove mad a popping sound, thought I saw something come out the vent on the stove top.

Afterwards:

The clock was blinking two dashes and the setting changed from bake to broil and a constant beeping started sounding.

I turned off the breakers in the basement to the range, just as a safty measure.
How can I make the error code appear again, just to be positive on the error

Any ideas.

I thought at one point I saw an F1 in the clock window too. Going to read the error code post.

Thanks in advance

Well, I guess you found out that the clock control board is the problem on a F1 code. I would just be sure to do some investigating, to make sure there are no burn’t wires, and check the oven elements. Tom

Thank for the reply - I was checking to see if the burners were working and the strangest thing is - everything seems to be working. Clock - door lock mech… bake, broil. As if there was nothing wrong.

Should I still be concerned and let the repair man come on out Tuesday…

Well - looks like the F1 code has re-appeared, this time permanently. I called for service and the repair(parts) is going to cost me a little more than $350.00 (ouch !!!)

I found the control and the overlay for approximately $200.00. Here are the parts 316220804 and 316207529 locally, about a 5 minute drive from my home. (Dayton Appliance Parts Inc)

Can some possibly explain how difficult this repair could be for me to do myself, if advisable.

Thanks in Advance
Tom
