Frigidaire issue with temp. Now both I/m's do not work

Looks like this model is lots of trouble from what I can find. Both ice makers do not work and the dispenser does not give water. Water valve was verified on should be ok. Removed connections on back and water is dispensed when lever is pressed. So, water tank must be frozen. That explains why ice makers do not work. Question is another company who does Frigidaire warranty work came out and placed a 2" piece of foam all the way up the back of the entire box. Customer said that is what factory told them to do. Never seen it. Anyway, after that was done, the ice makers stopped. Company refused to come back out. What is that for? With water tank frozen, I plan to replace refrigerator compartment thermistor. Anything else I need to know?
