Frigidaire Refrigerator

Had to replace my damper motor due to a loud grating noise. Took care of the problem but then developed a new problem. Now my fridge is either too warm or too cold. First, I didn’t place the thermistor in far enough which made the fridge too warms. Next, I placed it in as far as it would go. Everything froze. It has been a guessing game. I don’t know what to do.
