Frigidaire Stacker - The Dead Bionic Dryer! (not better stronger or faster)

Well, I finally got the correct wiring harness and replaced the fried wiring harness in the unit, and carefully put the dryer back together. When I plugged it, turned on the power and hit the start button on the drier…Nothing! If I hold down the start button, there is a clicking, so I know power is connecting to the panel. However, the motor is not coming on, nor the heat element. (Washer is working fine, BTW)

To give this unit some recent history, here are the recent parts I purchased and repaired.

Blower wheel: part# 131476300
-> The old wheel was melted to the blower compartment which prevented the motor from turning, which possibly lead to the wires melting leading to the heater element

Rear drum bearing kit: part# 5303281153
-> This needed to be replaced since the original plastic part was melted around the wheel, though the wheel was able to turn despite this before.

Harness - lcd main elec: part# 134119400
-> This replaced the melted wires leading from the motor to the heating element.

Where I am at now…
All of the above was carefully put back into place. The blower wheel can be turned by hand when attached to the motor.

Questions:

 1. What ELSE could cause the power not to come on for the drier?
 2. Did the fuse get fried? The wiring up to the heating element and the fuse were melted, and half way down the harness. No other melting anywhere else.

Rather than continue on an seemingly endless quest that may eventually lead to me replacing every single part in the machine, please let me know what the next steps should be, including testing, etc.

Many thanks and I appreciate the responses so far!

Mark

Hi Mark,

Check for continuity the thermal limiter (36 at the diagram). Replace if it’s open.
