My brother stored his side-by-side for over a year. After his death, I brought it to my place and it has sat for about 9 months in my garage. I cleaned it out to sell it, but when I plugged it in nothing happened. Neither the refrigerator nor the freezer cool. There is absolutely no fan or sound coming from it. Am I out of luck selling it? Or could there be a simple fix?

Could be that the unit is in a defrost cycle. This turns off the compressor ad the fans and lasts about 30 minutes.
It was plugged in since Sunday. I just went out to check, and the light does not come on. I unplugged it and plugged it into a different outlet. Now I receive a shock when I touch the doors (not grounded?), but the lights still don’t come on and I don’t hear compressor or fan.
I unplugged it since I don’t know if it’s a fire hazard.

Remove the rear cover so you can inspect the wiring.
