So the water dispenser one day just started running and wouldn’t stop. I’ve gone through a whole list of troubleshooting including:
1.Switched the actuator switches between the ice and the water dispenser. Water still ran.
2. Replaced the Water Valve (PN#: AP5671757). Water still ran.
3. Replaced the Module-Dispenser (PN#:AP5952228) Water still ran.
4. Replaced the User Interface Assembly (PN#:AP5999480) Water still ran.
If I remove the water filter the water stops. I assume that’s as designed because that breaks the "circuit" so to say.
I have a new water filter coming tomorrow just to rule out the water filter. I believe after that I’ve gone through the whole water path on the fridge. Unless I’ve missed something.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I have a couple of questions for you.
If you unplug the refrigerator does the water still run? When you say run, is that a trickle of water or full on run?
If you unplug the refrig and the water stops, you know that the problem is electrical. If you’ve replaced those parts, that means the water valve is getting power from somewhere.
Thanks for your reply. Yes, if I unplug the fridge the water stops running. And by run I mean full run.
That means that the water valve is getting power from somewhere. Either a short or crossed circuit. Or a bad part on a control board.
You wouldn’t by chance have a wiring diagram for this refrig.? I’ve seen a partial wiring diagram and it shows some kind of board and a triac feeding power to the water valve. A shorted triac could do this. I’m not sure where this board would be.
