The unit fills, then just gently hums through cycles, draining and filling, but never tumbling. The drum isn’t frozen, as I can move it by hand. The belt is good, the motor doesn’t run when belt is off or on. I think it is the speed unit, (part no. 131725300) Is there a way to be sure of the problem before I order this $300+ part? I have a meter, and can follow directions well.
Should a rebuilt part be reasonably reliable, considering the 10 yr age of the appliance? Thanks to any and all responders.
There should be a tech sheet inside the bottom panel which may help you confirm the diagnosis. It sure seems like the speed control board, a non unusual failure on this model.
I suggest you give serious consideration to taking the money you would spend on fixing this and applying it to a new machine. A no frills top load washer will do a good job for you and cost very little more than this part, which may not be the right fix.
Good luck.
Thanks. Am considering it while waiting in laundrymat.
Ok good.
I don’t want to push you too hard in one direction of a decision, but think how bad you would feel sitting in the laundramat after spending $300 on a part.
Made in 2004 according to serial number. Sometimes it opens, but more and more it doesn’t open. Is there a diagnostic test program that I can run before I spend $60 for a new dispenser?
