FRS26R4AW6 Possible Damper issue?

So…I was told I could post here to get help with an issue that I am currently having with the fridge…here goes.

I have a Frigidaire FRS26R4AW6. The freezer is very cold and working properly. The fan on the freezer side is blowing cold air. I noticed that every so often the fridge gets a bit warmer than normal when the freezer is normal (0F to -4F). It appears that the damper is not opening. I did notice that when there is demand for cold air in the fridge side and the damper is not open, if I knock once on the plastic shroud that covers the damper, right at the damper, I immediately hear the damper open and cold air comes in. It may work for a day or two but then the problem comes back. I am thinking that the issue is the damper but wanted to see what others think. Would this be the 1st step to replace the damper? Is there any way I can meter out the wiring to the damper to see that it is getting the proper signals before beginning the parts swap process?

Thanks in advance. Have a good new year. May your Fridge keep your beer cold…

Well… since there was such an abundance of help as I was told there would be when I called on the phone, I decided to order the damper. For anyone else with similar symptoms, it fixed my problem.
