Gas Dryer won't light or heat up

My stackable Maytag SG1000 won’t light up. I have good continuity of 76ohms across the igniter. I have perfect continuity across the flame sensor. So what would prevent the igniter from getting power? If I understand correctly the coils would only be the problem if both the igniter and/or the flame sensor were functional and yet gas was still not flowing. Thanks.

So does the ignitor ever glow at all? The more info you can provide, the better help you can get.

Yeah, sorry I guess I didn’t explain that. The dryer starts up with no errors and the drum spins. The igniter does not light up. I actually tried using a torch (maybe not so smart) to heat up the sensor to see if it would open the gas valve but gas never flowed. I talked to one guy that suggested testing for amperage to the igniter, if it’s under 3.5 then it’s not enough to trigger? I dunno.

Yeah, I would put that torch away personally. Here are a couple of links that can help you troubleshoot it. If the ignitor never glows in the first place, I would highly suspect it.

Yeah, not much help there. Been through the continuity check for all these, like I said above. Seems that there would be an obvious place to check before igniter or flame sensor. Maybe just replace coils and hope it works? Frustrating.

My dryer doesn’t have an electronic board so it’s fairly simple. About all I can suggest is searching for other posts with ignitor not glowing. You might be able to try that troubleshooting. Here is one example. Maybe one of the experts here will jump in to help. I hope.
