GAs range oven will not turn on

My wife was baking yesterday with a 7 year old Whirlpool Accubake. She took a break and then went to turn the oven back on nothing happened. No click from the ignitor and no gas was coming out. I tried lighting it with a lighter which is when I realized no gas was coming out. I am not sure if the oven has a sensor that detects if the ignitor is not functioning and shuts off the gas. The stove top gas works fine. Any ideas. Whirlpool wants $329 to come out and fix it. I am not very handy but I would like to try to fix it myself if it is something relatively simple. Any thoughts on whaat may be going on? Thanks
John
