I purchased a replacement part from your company to repair my GE Profile double oven. The part in question is the clock/oven control (WB27K5048). All the wires were correctly connected to the appropriate terminals and plugs. Every button (bake, broil, clock, lights, etc.) works when pressed EXCEPT the up and down button which controls every task needed. I still cannot use the oven since every function (adjusting the time, setting the temperature…) are controlled by the up/down button. No error messages appear in the window. Please help me in troubleshooting this problem. Is the part defective? Thank you.
What was the original problem?
Gene.
The original problem was diagnosed by a Sears technician (with his computer) which was an F1 error message in the screen. The oven was not working and I had to turn the circuit breaker to the oven (and cooktop) off due to the fact that the oven would constantly beep the error message. The tech diagnosis was that I had to replace the clock/oven control (WB27K5048). Thank you.
Remove the ribbon cable from the control board, and clean the contacts. If that does not help, you will need to replace the control panel
I agree with abadfish66. The bad news is that per GE the control panel for this model is no longer available.

Yep, I checked also comes up with no longer available. Here are the part#'s, maybe you can find one making some calls…WB36k5103, or WB36k5240
What should I use to clean the contacts and how should I clean them? Also, when you say that the control panel may need replacing, you are referring to the front/outside glass piece and not the clock/oven control (WB27K5048), correct? If that is the case, I may as well replace the entire oven. Thank you for the great advice.
