GE oven JDP36GP3WH, F2 codes keeps reappearing, sometimes during baking, more recently when oven and stove are not in use nor have they been in use for several hours. Replaced Oven sensor and have checked resistance on sensor and wiring up to oven control unit. At ambient temp, sensor and wiring read about 1077 ohms. Additionally, sometimes during baking, the oven just shuts off with no codes being displayed on the display. I suspect that the clock/oven controller is bad but it is longer available from GE or any of the local or on-line part houses that I’ve tried. Does this sound like a defective oven controller or maybe something else? Any suggestions on where to get a new controller or get this one repaired?
Unfortunately your control board is bad. I know this is not what you wanted to hear but the control board is putting up that code because it “thinks” the oven temperature is over 590 degrees. This is one thing I hate about self-diagnostic systems the control that is “diagnosing” is too often the part that is bad. Sorry about your problem! http://www.appliance-repair-it.com/fault-code.html
applianceman, I also noticed that the fan limit switch has a lot of "stuff" on it where overflow from the range top has dripped down onto the switch. Is it possible for the fan limit switch to go bad due to liquid getting into the switch? Would a defective fan limit switch cause the symptoms I have described? The switch reads open. Should it read open or closed when checked for continunity?
