I have a GE Oven (JKP26GP3BG) that is about 17 years old. It does not come up to the temperature that you set it at. For example, set it at 350 degrees and it gets to about 200. The bottom element comes on and will cycle on and off.
I have replaced the temperature sensor and it did not work.
I was told by the repair shop to swap the wires and I did so and it still is doing the same thing.
No error codes are being displayed.
I cut the wires to the sensor and used the wire nuts that came with the part to keep from removing the oven from the wall.
Any suggestions?
Does the broil element work?
many units switch back and forth between the two elements.

Broiler does work, but my oven does not switch back and forth
My broiler does work, but my oven does not alternate between the two.
Sounds like a control board (clock) problem.
Unfortunately this is a GE unit so I cannot get any tech info on it. Ge likes to keep everything a secret.
This is an old unit so I would feel more confident if I could get tech info.
They use a thermostat and a control board and I do not know how they wire the thermostat into the control board.
It looks like the control board (clock) is obsolete.
