GE gsd5560g03ss won't drain - already replaced drain pump

Hi All!

Trying to troubleshoot my mystery of a dishwasher problem. Here’s what’s happening:

When I run the dishwasher, I end up with water still left in the washer (just under the heating pipe things) when the cycle is complete. If I put it on rinse cycle, start it, and immediately cancel, it drains right out.

So far I’ve tried a few things:

  1. I took the filter thing that leads to the drain off and cleaned it out really good. It was pretty gunky. That didn’t help

  2. I took apart the drain line going to the sink and made sure it was clean. All was clear. We don’t have a garbage disposal. Didn’t help.

  3. I replaced the drain pump. Was fairly simple. Didn’t help.

NOW the interesting thing is that when I run the dishwasher, there’s a big leak all over the floor coming from the flood switch bracket. It only leaks when the washer is actually doing making washing sounds. I am assuming these two things are unrelated, and something just broke while I was messing with things, but who knows.

Would appreciate any advice!

For reference, here’s the diagrams of my dishwasher:

Didn’t get any replies, but I saw this problem on a number of other forums and just ordered the piston and nut assembly. The old one’s rubber stopper was worn mostly away. Crossing fingers that’ll do the job.
