GE oven problem

I have a GE oven Model #JGB21HEH1WW, the past couple of day my wife has said it has smeld like gas in the kitchen. I finally smelt it this morning. I shut the gas off and of course could smell any more, gas. How ever while the gas was off the oven igniter came on. I have replace the igniter in the past year, but I think that i have a safety valve problem. Any help where to start would be great.
