GE Oven won't light

I have an old GE oven with a pilot light. The pilot even gets bigger when the oven thermostat is turned on, but no gas seems to come out of the burner to light the oven? All stove burners work fine and the pilot for the oven stays lit.
I hate to put much $$ into it , but we haven’t the funds for a new range/oven right now. My poor wife has been without an oven for 6 months already.
If you have ideas please include part #s and the best place to buy.

Gene, I ran the washer with no clothes in the machine. The washer does not shake when it goes thru a full cycle but, it does appear to spin rather slow. I’m not sure if there are two speeds for the spin cycle, if there are it is not switching to the higher speed. I pulled the drain hoses off of the back panel and the water pump, to make sure there was nothing restricting the water when discharging. They were clean and water seemed to flow freely thru the discharge hose. While on the spin cycle the machine seems to empty completly.
