GE Profile does not clean properly

Leaves residue on dishes. 8 years old. Does not rinse properly. Only silverware cones out clean. We use good quality dish washing detergent.
Any suggestions?

Check that all the holes in the spray arms are clean.

Check that the unit is filling properly. Most units fill to just under the heating element.
One way to ensure this is to add a couple quarts of hot water after each fill during a cycle. Just be careful to not overfill the unit. If it then washes OK the problem is probably a dirty screen filter on the input side of the fill valve.

Remove and check/clean the fine filter (Item 451 in Section 4).
Check in the sump (Item 505 in Section 4) for debris or something wrapped around the chopper. Be careful as there is often broken glass in the sump.

Obviously your dishwasher needs repair. I not only have a 5 year old GE Profile Quietpower4 that has performed perfectly as demanded and expected, but that I am upgrading to a brand new GE Profile Quietpower7 as I’m redoing my kitchen. My dishwasher along with all of my other GE Profile appliances have been amazing units. GE or LG Samsung Whirlpool etc… I’m sure all have great products yet sometimes one can become a dud/lemon. I’m a huge fan of GE Profile appliances and have ordered brand new induction cooktop, wall-oven, microwave and dishwasher. The thousands of dollars I am spending is a great investment… I am one ‘Happy Camper’!.
