Other googled sites say stuff like this for different or slightly similar models…
"HRS means the main board on the back has detected an internal short. HR means the defrost heaters are not working so if you are getting HR check the back of your freezer for excess frost.
If it’s HRS then replace the board on the back of the unit.
Here is the part you need. The part is located behind a 6 X 10" sheet metal panel on the back of the unit— very easy to replace, just plug and play."
I saw the question below somewhere and it is very similar to what mine is doing.
"Our GE Artica Frig, model # PSS26SGRC has decided to have a nervous breakdown. The ice and quick ice lights are pulsing. We can not dispense ice or water. The control readout on the frig side is flashing "hrs" and will not accept input. I tried to "[communication](http://www.fixya.com/support/t3603231-ge_artica_pulsing_lights#"]reboot[/URL]" by unplugging for 20 minutes, thinking pleasant thoughts and plugging back into the outlet. No change. Any ideas?"
The guru’s solution was :
"Your refrig display , has lost [URL="http://www.fixya.com/support/t3603231-ge_artica_pulsing_lights#) , with the main control board , located , behind the refrig , behind an 8 " X 10 " panel . The control board , is easily replaceable , with 7 or 8 plugs , attached to it . The part number , for your board , is WR55X10942 . It runs about $150.00."
Sorry I am going into depth with this … it’s just right now I’m the typical sob story and it’s a bad time of year. I am trying to fix this for my Mom and th emoney just isnt there right now.
But if this is the problem I know I have to bite the bullet. Just making sure I don’t have any alternatives.
Would the dispenser light dim when you press the water dispenser lever? If Yes, then the main control board on the back of the refrigerator has gone bad.
