GE Profile PSC25SGSA Freezer and fridge will not coll below a certain temp

Hi,

I have this GE unit in my garage and just had a repairman out to see why my fridge and freezer will not cool below 17 and 47 degrees respectively.

We were told that there is low fan output preventing normal air flow and recommended a new control board.

The repairman recommended that we keep food at the lower levels as it will be cooler there.

I don’t want to spend a lot of money fixing this unit as its a garage fridge for overflow. Does this treatment sound correct? If so, what board would you recommend? I’m fairly handy and could re-install a new onf if this is the issue.

Thanks

Check the frost pattern on the evaporator coils, total frost, or partial frost. If partial frost, you have system problems.
If you keep the fridg door open for a period, the evaporator motor will speed up to maximum speed. If not, you have a bad motherboard.
