That was it…there was blown up electrical parts on the old board. Might be worth taking the cover off and taking a look before you order.

I live in Trenton Ontario, Canada are their video’s or if not good detailed pictures of how to remove the cold water hot water taps the taps are seized and cold is leaking.
I called plumber he can’t come to monday, l am on a $ 729.00 disability pension if l can buy what l need and change will save over $ 100.00 if anyone can help me on above email me please at jimswoodworking@yahoo.com thank you

Frig and freezer run normal then seems to stick in defrost mode and both compartments begin to thaw. If we open and close the doors several times then unit runs fine again for several days and then pattern repeats. Is the defrost control board the culprit?
It could be the defrost board or the cold control. I would test the cold control with a multimeter when it’s not working, if it’s warm and on the coldest setting it should be closed. If that checks ok then you probably have a board issue.

Hello I have a GE model #: GSS25LSTASS that was purchased new in 2006 and for last few years I too have had no dispensing from my water or ice conductance. I’m now ready to fix it but, at a loss for which part would be best. I done the rewire under the frige with no luck. Would it be wiser to go with the main control board: WR55X10942 or the dispenser control board: WR55X10880

Hi Gene, thanks for answering my post! Iv’e changed the filter and used the bypass to eliminate the filter as a factor. I’m not sure how to check the "levels" though. What happens when the cup switch is pushed is; the control display flashes and the compressor will turn off for a few seconds. Then it the display comes back on and the frige resumes to work but fails to dispense ice or water. Besides what I described above the display seems to function normally in regards to: temp control, alram, express cool etc. I feel relatively that it must be the control board or display control but, unsure which direction is the smartest way to go since neither part is particularly cheap. Thanks again for your help in this matter.
Hi Gene thank you very much for your suggestion! My part came this afternoon, I installed it after work and now have ice and water flowing from my dispenser again. I haven’t seen that since 2009 -so nice! Thanks again for your sharing you time and expertise.
Gene, I am kind of stumped on which way to go - I am not sure how old this fridge/freezer is the model is PSS26SGRDSS - For quite some time now it would not dispense Ice or Water - I checked the switch and all the buttons, I ended up removing the light bulb - (was not turning on) and now the water works… The lock - door alarm - quick ice have always worked… Of course I am hoping that it is just a solenoid - should be easy, however I do not want to waste the money if it is one of the two boards… Any insight would be appreciated! Thanks

No, the flap itself is closed, pressing it does nothing. The lights dim when I press the mechanism to release ice, also the compressor stops momentarily…

It points to a bad main control board. No doubt about it.

I have the same problem, Interface Display dead. The main board was changed then the display. Nothing works. I checked the connection at the bottom of door & water in coming out of tube with wires, not good. Please help

What is the complete model number of the refrigerator?

Gene I was hoping maybe you could help me. My GE refrigerator model is GSHS6HGDSS. I can press the display buttons and they all work, but when I select the Ice button and then push in the dispenser arm, the panel goes blank and no ice will come out (the ice maker is working). However, I can get water (bit of a delay, but it does work). After playing with it for awhile, the whole display starting going crazy with 00’s flashing across the temperature control display. Waited awhile and the panel reset, but still no ice.
