My refrigerator is not dispensing ice or water however, ice is still being made. The green light will come on when you press crushed, cubed, water, etc. but will go out when the lever is touched. It is not making any noise to even indicate that it is trying to work. Any help, or suggestions wold help.
The light does go off when the lever is pushed. Do you know a site I can go to to get instructions on fixing it mtself?

Does the dispenser light dim and/or flicker when the lever depressed? If it does then the problem is a bad main control board.

Gene, I followed a link in a preveious message you had sent to someone else and found the information I was looking for. I bought a new control board, installed it and it works great. Thank you for all your help, you’ve been great!! Again, thank you!!
Hello Gene,
I’m new to the forum. I’m stoked to have found it. I’m having the same problem as easyonce53. My model number is PSC23MSTESS. Would I order the same control board? Thanks for your help. Oh could you direct me to the link on how to replace the board?

Sorry for the delay.
The same problem with very similar refrigerator means the same solution should fix it.
The main control board is located on the back of the refrigerator and the new part comes with the complete installation instructions.

Gene,
I am trying to help a friend fix her refrigerator with almost identical problems as the other posters. Ice maker produces ice OK. Dispenser for water and ice do not work. When pushing either lever for ice or water the light goes out and the control panel inside the refrigerator door (right side) defaults to error. She has a GE Profile side by side MODEL PSS26NGSC BB. Serial number VH403184. I would like to order the main board but wanted to make sure that this would correct the problem. Any help you could give us would be greatly aprreciated.
Thanks
David
David,
Very likely the new control board will fix this problem and, if you will order it from Appliance Parts Pros, then you have nothing to loose because you can return it even if it was installed.

Gene,
Ordered the part and it fixed the problem. Thanks! I was wondering…did they change anything on the board to make it last longer? My friends refirgerator was only 3 years old when the part failed.
You are welcome David. I’m glad it’s up and running.
This part has been redesigned by GE a few times since they start to make such refrigerators. Hopefully the last one will last longer.

I have a GE Side by Side with a model number of TFX27PP. The ice maker makes ice but does not dispense it. The solenoid that activates the flapper in the door does not work and I hear what sounds like another solenoid in the ice making area trying to work. The forked device that spins the corkscrew does not turn either.
Other than throwing the refigerator out and starting over, where should I start to look to find its problems? Thanks.
Remove the ice bucket, ice maker and motor cover.
Remove the wires from the auger motor. Tape in the door light switch. Check for 120 VAC between those wires while the ice dispenser calls for the ice. Remove the wires from the solenoid (#378 on the diagram) and perform the same voltage test.
Post the results.

Thanks Gene. I will get to that this afternoon and post the results. Thanks for the help.
