My GE profile washer won’t agitate, but will drain and spin. Initially had a timer issue, where for a couple loads the machine ran continuously in either wash-agitation mode or spin for many hours before I realized it. Replaced the timer and that’s fine now. Within the next 2-3 weeks after timer replacement, it burned the belt badly, where my house was filled with rubber burning smoke smell. Cleaned the pulleys of both motor and transmission, and replaced the belt. Never removed tension from the motor, just wrapped the new one on. Now motor seems to try to start, hums, then relay cuts out. I can turn the transmission from the bottom manually but it does seem somewhat tight. Machine will spin, but can’t get agitation at all, with motor humming, then stalling. Is this likely a motor issue, ie 2 stage reversing problem, or do you suspect transmission? Either way I feel the repair parts would outweight the value of the machine. Appreciate your thoughts.
