My ge refrigeratorstopped cooling,i unpluged it and plugged it back the next day checked the rear fan was working, compressor working hot to touch could hold hand on it for no more then 5 seconds,i let it run for about six hours and everything seemed fine the freezer temp was 0 and the fridge 35,but i then noticed the freezer temp went up to 7 and the fridge temp started to rise when opening the freezer i could see moisture on the side walls,i looked in th rear of the fridge and the compressor was as hot as before, fan running, only difference there was some water beneath the unit ,can someone tell me what this symptoms indicate and with an educated guess what should be replaced first or what test I can do to pinpoint the problem,Thank you
Try cleaning the condenser coils and the condenser motor fan blade. Also, make sure you put back the rear panel. I would also monitor the freezer temperature and tell us what is running/not running when it fails.
