i have a GE washer that always seems to bang and clunk badly when it ggets into the spin cycle.it acts just like its out of balance but it usually isnt.the 4 tub dampener straps are not broken but i’m wondering if they might b stretched or weak an allowing the tub to move too much causing the out of balance condition.a local repair shop told me if they arent broke they arent bad an that they do NOT stretch over time.anyone have any ideas or suggestions? getting quite frustrated…lol
Pull off the front panel and look for a suspension strut failure, there are three of them. Either that or your spin basket nut is loose.
the tub nut is tight,i have checked that after each load for approx 6-8 loads. there are four suspension struts and all of them are in their respective cradles.i cant see anything obvious as to why this is happening.the tub sits level, that is the first indication to me that the out of balance condition has not dislocated one of the suspension struts off the hanger cradle.if we drop down to a medium load, the banging does not occur.
