GE microwave PVM1870sm3ss has failed to heat. started as a failure every few weeks.
Now it will not heat at all.
I have removed it and removed the cover shetmetal.
Contacted GE and received a schematic and a trouble flow chart.
when the micro works, there is approx. 13-14 amps through the High voltage fuse. feeding the HVT. when it is not working, there is approx. 5 amperes. Just recently, I had variable (5-7 ) amps current through the HVT and had some heating, although these current surges appeared to caused the light in the microwave to flicker. but no real heat.
I removed the magtron and found that the air guide was somewhat melted neat the magtron.
Could this be a cause or is the magtron failing.
