Ghost in the Samsung Refrigerator

Please help! I have the Samsung RFG297AARS French Door Refrigerator. The problem started with it not cooling right. It would randomly get warmer. The refrigerator would get up to the 50s and the freezer into the 40s. It would get cooler again after a day or 2. It then stopped cooling altogether. It appears the compressor is not turning on. All fans are working. There is no defrosting issue.

The inverter board was blinking 5 times. Inverter board was replaced. Still blinked 5x. Main PCB was changed. Still blinking 5x. OLP was good and windings on compressor were good. It has been plugged in for a week and not cooling. Last night the compressor kicked on and it is now at correct temperatures. I am at my wits end! Has anyone seen anything like this? Please help!

Thank you
Justin

It sounds like you’ve already done a lot of troubleshooting on your Samsung refrigerator. The fact that the inverter board, main PCB, and OLP were all replaced without resolving the issue suggests that the problem is likely not related to these components.

The fact that the compressor is intermittently turning on and off and the temperature is fluctuating could indicate a problem with the compressor itself. It’s possible that the compressor is failing and needs to be replaced. Another possibility is that there is an issue with the wiring or connections between the https://dgbrefrigeration.com.au/ and the control board, causing intermittent power loss.
