I have a GE Triton XL dishwasher that is having problems with the heating element. The element does not shut off and heats up the entire dishwasher to a dangerously hot level.
I manually deselected the "Heated Dry" the first time this happened and the dishwasher seemed to work OK for about a week. Last night I set it to run a couple hours after we went to bed, When I got up, the dishwasher panel was beeping and the "Normal Wash" button was flashing. Once again the unit had heated up considerably to the point that the plastic dishes were beginning to smell like they were melting.
Is this a failure of the logic unit/main control module or is there a thermostat in this model that goes bad?
Thanks for your help!
