High Limit TSTAT

I know this topic has been discussed to death, but I am still looking for a clear answer to a simple quesion. Here it is:

My Matag DG410 worked when we moved to our new house, but died right away (still tumbles, but no heat). I quickly dicovered that the exhaust vent to the roof was badly clogged. I immediatley had it professionaly cleaned. So, then I started checking as to why the heat source is now not working. What I dicovered is, the High Limit TSTAT is blown. The Low Temp and Regular TSTAT appear to still be OK. Will this faulty HL TSTAT cuase the ignitor to stop glowing all together? Or might there be something else (ignitor, flame sensor, etc) be bad as well.

Also, does it matter which way the HL TSTAT goes in, and which wire connects to which terminal? Doesn’t appear to matter

Thanks…
