My freezer and refrigerator stopped working. The inside light and condenser fans are running but compressor not kicking on. I am wondering what I can check? Motherboard, relay, startup plug on side of compressor?
Your hotpiont refrigerator is made by GE. I think that you might need to replace the main control board. part # WR55X10942. it’s a common problem for GE fridges.
Pull the motherboard and check the back for blown solder joints behind the big power relay.
If ok, pull the lower 3pin power connector and place a wire jumper between connector pins that mate between the line and comp pins labeled on the motherboard.
If the compressor now runs when the fridg is plugged in, you probably have a bad motherboard.
