I saw a small pool of water on the floor while doing the last load. I want to be able to get a good look inside to see what the water is coming from, but I cannot figure out how to get the back or top open.
I was expecting a few screws or something, but the only thing I saw was a couple of heavy metal tabs inserted into slots in the back, but I could not pry them open. The machine is way too old to call a repair man, so I have to do it myself or else buy a new one.
Thanks to anyone who can offer some help.
Should be two screws near bottom of front panel under the small lip. Take those out and pull bottom of panel outward until the clips at the top release.

Thanks a lot Eric. Your advice was right on. I thought the problem might be something like a leak in a hose or the pump, but it turns out there are a couple of spots on the bottom of the tub that have just started to rust through and have slow drips, weep holes in other words.
Now I am wondering what to do about it. I’m thinking of applying some kind of water-resistant adhesive to the spots to extend the life of the washer, which still works well. Any suggestions?
