My whirlpool fridge stopped working. One service man diagnosed that the inverter board (W1033449) and the control board need to be replaced. The inverter seems to be gone, for when I opened the rear cover, I could see burnt marks on it. I have a replacement, but I am not able to remove the old one. Out of the four connectors/ bunch of wires, one of them goes in to the small board like thingy that is attached firmly to the compressor. It is very difficult to remove/pull out. I wonder how to do that. Or simply, if there are step by step instructions to replace inverter, that would be great.
Also, where to find the electric control board he was talking about. There seem to be two control boards, one #19 in the unit parts, and another one #6 in control parts.
I figured it out and replaced the inverter, Now, the compressor is working. I also ran the diagnostic tests. Appears that the compressor and evaporator fans are not running. I could see that condensor fan is not running, but dont know where to locate the evaporator fan.
Within few minutes of the fridge running, the trim between FC/ RC is HOT. I believe the non-running condensor fan would explain this. Now, what are my options? How do I check if the fan motor needs to be replaced?
I still need help in locating the eletric control boards.
I tried removing the control panel, but couldnt find any obvious way to remove that. I did remove two screws next to the light bulbs, but the entire trim seems to be well struck. There should be an easy way to remove the control panel, rt? This is part #1 in diagram #3(control parts).
Thanks Woodchuckie,
I finally managed to remove the panel. Though I didn’t manage to remove the temperature control panel, I was able to locate the electric control board. This one looks much smaller than the replacement part I have (2307028). Could it be part # 19 in the unit diagram? The replacement part looks like that. If so, how do I get to that?
Now, what are these two different control boards for?
