GE Profile side by side Model#TPX24PRDA. Ice Buildup around the Ice Maker and at the top of the door between the seal and the unit. I remove the ice every 2 weeks. Wondering if it could be the door seal or could it be something more.
Where exactly is the ice building up?
If the icemaker is malfunctioning and overfilling, it will cause the excess water to freeze.
Is it the kind where the ice maker is on the freezer door or the ice maker is mounted on the cabinet side, above the ice container and it drops ice down into the container, which is on the freezer door.
Check the drop down container dispenser shute-ensure the flap is closing properly and that ice is not holding it open. Warm air can get inside and
- melt the ice in the container together
- cause ice to buildup in other areas, as well.
