Ice dispenser on door not turning on

My Kenmore side-by-side stopped dispensing ice through the door. THe ice maker still works fine. Water dispenser works; light on ice/water dispenser works. Two questions:

  1. Would your first suspicion be the solenoid switch failing that shoulc be turning on when pressing on the ice dispenser lever?

  2. If so, how do you remove the plastic trim on the faceplate of the dispenser to get to it?
