I have a malfunctioning icemaker for the Kitchen Aid. Aside from a broken link between the large drive gear and the ice ejector and possible defective motor, I need to test the mold heater to see if it is ok. Is there a test I can perform using my Volt-Ohm meter to see if it is working?
Thanks. I have reached that conclusion as well. I could get lucky and hit the right defective part but buying a whole new unit will make more sense. For what it’s worth I am pretty sure it’s the heater but the link to the large drive gear is broken as well so buying both(heater and motor module) individually costs as much as a whole new unit.
